Welcome to BJE Early Childhood Center in Wilmette, Illinois. We offer a stimulating environment where children grow intellectually and socially in a caring community. Our center welcomes families with children beginning at 6 weeks old through 5 years old. We are open year-round, Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM, with full day, half day, and extended care options.
Our philosophy
The Reggio Emilia philosophy recognizes that young children have many ways of expressing themselves. Our teachers tap into children's natural curiosity to actively engage them in learning. Project work, in which teachers and children are involved in interactive, thought-provoking discussions, stimulates children to learn and problem-solve in a group setting. This method of learning respects each individual child’s ideas and is key to involving each child in the larger group experience. This process encourages verbal, artistic, intellectual, and social growth as children learn to solve problems independently and together as a group.
