About Us
Our MIssion
Our mission at BJE-ECC is to support the emotional wellness of all children through a compassionate and diverse community, to view each child as the curious and unique individuals they are, and to create lifelong learners who hold empathy for others and confidence in themselves.
Our Philosophy
We embrace a Reggio-inspired curriculum that celebrates the natural curiosity and creativity of each child. We believe in the power of play-based learning as the foundation for cognitive, social, and emotional development. Our philosophy is backed by evidenced based research within the field of education.
Our approach is grounded in the following principles:
Child-Centered Exploration: We view children as active participants in their own learning journey. We provide a rich, stimulating environment where children are encouraged to explore, ask questions, and express themselves in a variety ofways.
Play-Based Learning: We recognize that play is a vital aspect of learning. Through play, children develop critical thinking skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. Our curriculum is designed to integrate play with meaningful learning experiences that cater to the interests and developmental stages of each child. Emotional Responsiveness: We prioritize emotional wellness and responsiveness, fostering a compassionate community where every child feels safe, valued, and understood. Our educators are attuned to the emotional needs of each child, providing support and guidance to help them navigate their feelings and build healthy relationships. Collaboration and Community: We believe in the importance of collaboration between children, educators, and families. We create an inclusive environment where everyone is encouraged to share ideas, work together, and contribute to the learning process. Respect for Individuality: We honor the unique qualities and strengths of each child through a compassionate and equitable lens. Our approach is tailored to recognize and support the individual differences, interests, and abilities of every learner, fostering a sense of self-confidence and a love for lifelong learning.
